Postcard Exhibition at Gallery Steel Rooms

Submit your Art Work for our ‘On a Postcard’ Exhibition

… On a Postcard

… On a Postcard – is part of our A Case for Place project of exhibitions and events. Artists, makers, designers and doodlers are invited to contribute a postcard-sized piece of work on a theme that falls into ‘landscape and place’, to be exhibited in our Field Notes space, 10 November – 19 January.

…On a Postcard provides our audience with a display of delectable small artworks which they can buy and take away, and which make great, original gifts around the festive season (or something to put away for a future celebration!)

… On a Postcard pieces will be sold in support of our A Case for Place project and future projects.

… On a Postcard participants will be listed alongside the display as contributors, with our thanks.

How to join in: We invite A6 and A5-sized pieces which need to be original works where the evidence of the hand is visible in some way if digital print technology is used (intaglio, collograph and other classic print techniques are very welcome!) The pieces could be drawn studies, original photographs, or little collages, paintings or textile pieces, which we aim to price at £30 for A6 and £40 for A5-sized works. Unframed and signed on the back, these can be dropped in at the gallery or posted to arrive any time before the 3rd November to:

What happens if my piece is sold? … On a Postcard pieces are sold as a contribution to the A Case for Place project and future projects. We will notify participants with a letter of thanks and recognition for their support.

What happens if my piece is not sold? … On a Postcard pieces are provided by participants in support of the A Case for Place project and future projects. In the event that a piece is not sold, we aim to keep the work for future fundraising opportunities, which could be another similar postcard-type display, or other initiative. Unsold pieces my of course be collected by participants if they so prefer at the end of the display. We regret we are unable to return pieces by post.
