In April 2018, Pete Short and Leanne Smart joined us in our main Gallery space for a talk event about working on the Humber Reserves, as part of our Bird After Bird programme.
As Pete put it the talk was ‘A personal meander down the Humber looking at its fantastic wildlife and the work of the RSPB that focuses on the protection and management of this raw and untamed wetland landscapes which form’s one of Europe’s most important estuaries for many thousands of shorebirds’.
Here’s some of the feedback from those that came along to the talk …
“Very interesting. Good Speakers. Very knowledgeable.”
“Excellent informative presentation. Well-presented and friendly.”
“Interesting group of people and good to see a mix of ages. Found both the talks inspirational and informative.”
Gallery Steel Rooms shows the work of contemporary artists, poets and composers who care about our world; how we see it, live in it, use it. Our interdisciplinary programme operates around notions of landscape and place and seeks to engage with our regional, national and worldwide environments through projects and events which both inform and excite. We’ll always be adding to our programme so please do sign up to our Gallery Steel Rooms Mailing List for all up to date information on exhibitions, events and workshops and visit the Workshops & Events page of our website for a full list of all we have coming up … coming up later in the year we have poetry readings and classical music, with lots more in the pipeline. Hope to see many of you soon :)
