Dwelling is the beginning of a residency-based project working with sculptor Anna Gillespie. Dwelling arises from a combination of The Gathering project which included work which depicts a sense of immersion in nature, and The Waiting installation created for the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool. Recent visits to Africa have led Anna to consider the way in which humans are influenced by man-made environment and the way in which we interact with the planet as a species. Whilst much of her recent work seeks to depict the historical experience of people and their movements across the surface of the Earth through the ages, Dwelling may be seen to represent the lived experience of seeking and inhabiting place.

This is the beginning of a 2-year project where Anna will work with the Woodlands Trust in 2019.

The exhibition runs from 8th July – 1st September.
